Let There Be Light

When we bought this house, in February, we had to replace just about everything, including the lights. This is a before picture of the breakfast nook. You can't see the light, because there are cabinets in the way. But you can believe me when I say it needed to be replaced.

Here is the after picture. We knocked out the cabinets and made a half wall going into the office area. I got this chandelier at Ikea. It was just plain black and I beaded it.

Marcus made me a cute light out of a red colander to hang over my kitchen sink. He also put outlets on top of my cabinets so I could plug lights in up there. He's sweet like that. First you have to see the before pics to appreciate his hard work:

And this is "during":

He raised the ceiling from 8feet to 10 feet. And put bead board on it.

And the after, Ta Da!

I am thankful for a terrific handy husband. And one that let's me paint my cabinets smurf blue!
