Shake It Like a Polaroid Picture

So, I need to get my big butt in shape.

I just made my annual appointment today, you know the one I mean. It's in 3 weeks. I have not been in 4 years!! I can't even believe that. And I don't condone it. You should go every year. So I have 3 weeks to get in shape and pretend like I have been living healthy for the past 4 years. That's possible, right? I want to avoid the lecture about weight, blood pressure, fruits, vegetables, exercise.... And I know if I want to talk about fertility I am going to hear the words "advanced maternal age". I am really not looking forward to this appointment at all.

Anyway I need music to get moving, so I bought a new MP3 player today for the bargain price of $19.99. I have loaded it with all my booty shaking music, but I need more. That's where you come in. Any suggestions on good, really fast songs that might motivate me to work out?

Here's my list so far. It is super eclectic and I can't sit still when I hear these songs.
Don't judge!

Trouble - Pink
Switch - Will Smith
Video Killed a Radio Star - The Bugglrs
Cecilia - Simon and Garfunkel
She's Crafty - Beastie Boys
Golddigger - Kanye West
Suddenly I See - KT Tunstall
Ice Ice Baby - Vanilla Ice
Sexy Back - Justin Timberlake :)
Black Horse and A Cherry Tree - KT Tunstall
You Be Illin' - Run DMC
All The Small Things - Blink 182
Paul Revere - Beastie Boys
London Bridge - Fergie
Hey Ya! - Outkast
Ain't No Other Man - Cristina Aguilara
I Could Be Your Girlfriend - Avril Lavigne
Accidentally In Love - Counting Crows
Veronica - Elvis Costello
U Can't Touch This - MC Hammer
So What - Pink
You Can Call Me Al - Paul Simon
Loves Me Like a Rock - Paul Simon
Hallelujah I Love Her So - Ray Charles

What songs get you going?

"please don't stop the music" rhianna

"lose control" missy elliot

-- sometimes i look at aerobic mixes on itunes b/c they put the selections of songs to a specific and steady beat -- then if you walk/run to the beat, you always keep a decent pace!

Good for you, Dina! I have been hitting the treadmill lately with my IPod, and I walk/run to many of the same songs you listed. How about "Take me Away" by Fefe Dobson and "Girl Next Door" by Saving Jane. Plus, I love "Think" that Katharin McPhee redid on Idol a few years ago.

I love your blog! Sugar Land has some GREAT up beat music that I LOVE to exercise to. They sing country music, but I love them.

Off the subject...do you have any tips for removing wall paper? Our house is 14 years old & the wall paper in the kitchen is hideous! It MUST come off & I thought that you may have some helpful tips.

I reciently started working out and I found that 80's hair band with a mix of more popular music really keeps me motivated. "live your life" by Rihanna, "girls, girls, girls" by Motley Crue, "cum on feel the noise" by Quiet Riot, "i love rock & roll" by Joan Jett and "Back in Black" by ACDC. Those are the ones i can think of off the top of my head...Hope that helps :)

Any of the 3rd Eye Blind music keeps my feet going on the elliptical. I like that I can go straight thru the albums and zone out to the hard pumping beat!

Yes, Hair Band music would probably work well too :)

Don't be scared to go to the girl-dr, she'll help you be a better you :) gina

I have no music advice, but it sounds like you've gotten some pretty good suggestions. I just wanted to let you know I could have written this post. I haven't been to "the doctor" in 4 years as well because I am so embarrassed at how I have let myself go. I also would love to have another baby, but I know they won't give me fertility treatments at the weight I am. My plan is to start a diet on Monday, so I can make my appointment as well. I wish you much luck and will be thinking of you! Have a great day!

I really like your list. I would only add "Just Dance" by Lady Gaga as I literally cannot sit still when that song is on.

I wanted to invite you to be my blogging friend. I have recently made the decision to make my blog private for a spell and just wanted to extend an invite to you to read my blog if you'd like. I couldn't find a place to send a private message to you, so I'll just leave my email. You can email me if you'd like an invite as I'd be happy to send you one! This is kinda awkward for me as I don't presume to think anyone would like to read my blog, but I love yours and just thought I'd ask... :-)

I am glad you liked my suggestions! Good luck. I need to get on the ball myself. I think I am heading back to WW. And yes, I live in Carrollton. Knock on wood, no fires here! Do you ever get this way to see him?
