Did You Watch?

Did you watch the wedding this morning? I recorded it and watched after the sun came up. Everything was so beautiful. I loved Kate's dress.

They look so happy. Can you imagine being a real life Princess?

I Can!
Actually, I think I prefer being a commoner. I don't have the kind of manners it takes to be a princess!

I loved the Queen's sunny yellow dress. It makes her seem, not so stuffy.

And these girls are William's cousins. Fergie's daughters! Fergie was always bashed for her fashion sense, or lack of. So I won't bash these girls, because I am sure they are really sweet. The hat on the right kept reminding me of something out of Whoville. Right?

I can appreciate their gutsyness!

Best wishes to the new couple!

A Recipe and Baby Jeggings

I just got a chicken tetrazzini recipe from my mom, that she got from her yoga friend.
And now I'm giving it to you!

It's great because it makes 2 pans, so you can freeze one or give one to a friend. I gave one to a friend, because that's just the kind of girl I am! Plus if I put one in the freezer I would find it 5 years later and throw it out!

This picture doesn't make it look very appetizing, but I thought it was good! And I LOVE this pan. It is very old and belonged to my great Aunt Tessie. She was a little Italian lady and made lots of lasagna in this pan.

OK, the recipe:

1 16 oz package of vermicilli
1/2 cup of chicken broth
4 cups of chopped chicken breast
1 can of cream of mushroom soup
1 can of cream of celery soup
1 can of cream of chicken soup
1 8oz container of sour cream
1 6oz jar of mushrooms drained
1/2 cup of shredded parmesan cheese
salt and pepper
and 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese to sprinkle on top

1. cook spaghetti according to the directions, drain. Return to pot, and toss with chicken broth.

2. Stir together chicken and all the ingredients except the cheddar cheese. Add the spaghetti and toss well. Spoon mixture into 2 lightly greased 11x7 dishes.

3.Bake covered at 350 for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake for 5 more minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly.

I made 2 modifications to the recipe above. I skipped the mushrooms, because I feel like it's the same as adding boogers to your food and I double the cheese, because if 2 cups of cheese is good then 4 is better!

Then since I was feeling like Betty Crocker, I made some Betty Crocker Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies! Almost from scratch.

I buy the package of oatmeal cookies. It comes with all the dry ingredients. You just add a stick of butter, an egg and water. Then I added a cup of chocolate chips. Then I sprinkled in a few more. My theories on cheese and chocolate are very similar!

They are heavenly and since you are eating oatmeal, it cancels out the chocolate part!

I had to get a picture of Katie's face after her nap.
It looked like she was eating powdered donuts in bed. It turns out she was just eating her crib! Not the part that is safely protected by that plastic thing. No, she chose to chew right on the painted part!

And she was wearing jeggings today, so that had to be documented too. My sister in law got them for her.

I laughed out loud when I put them on her.

And her bow isn't in because she just got up from her nap. I took a picture anyway.

My friend Erica told me about a baby shirt she saw that said,
"The bigger the bow, the better the mama!"
I love that!

My mom's birthday was on Saturday!

I used to put her age on her birthday blog posts before she started reading my blog. Since Katie came around, she checks it out every once in a while, so I am not going to tell you that she turned 63.

And her unofficial nickname is Weezie, because her name is Donna Louise! I believe in freedom of speech, so I can say all of this if I want to!

Katie is whacking her cousin Morgan in the face! oops!

We brought Blue with us too. He's been lonely since his BFF died.

It's too bad this poor baby isn't loved or shown any attention!

Ryan and Blue were brave and jumped in the pool. I think I'll wait until June.

Happy Birthday Nonni!

This is the look Ryan got after he blew out her candles!
That's why Katie is her favorite!

Happy Easter!

He is Risen.
The tomb is empty!

Both our families came over for lunch yesterday after church.

Unfortunately, Marcus had to work. Somebody's got to fight the fires and save lives!

We had plenty of chocolate for everyone!

Katie's first Easter:

Here are the cousins getting ready for the big egg hunt!

And the paparazzi getting all the action:

These are all Katie's cousins:

This picture makes it look like I have one leg, but I promise I have two! I was sitting on one of them. Not sure how that was comfy?

You can see both my legs here with Marcus's family. We missed him!

And my family:

It was a fun day!
I am so glad both families get a long so well that we can be together for holidays.

Sometimes it seems like Easter is the celebration of chocolate bunnies. It's much more. We are celebrating that Jesus is alive after being crucified for our sins. He paid the price and was the sacrifice. If you accept that gift from him, you will spend eternity in Heaven...which I am sure is full of chocolate bunnies!

Space Bags!

Kelly's Korner is hosting Show Us Your Life: How you stay organized.

Unfortunately, I have little to say on the subject, because I am extremely unorganized!

BUT, I just space bagged some baby clothes to make some room for MORE baby clothes!

It really did work!
I am going to try it with some extra comforters and pillows that I have too.

So now I am a teensie bit organized!

I can't wait to read everyone else's tips!

Getting Ready and The Dr.

Getting ready for Easter! It's just a few days away!
I love whenEaster falls at the end of April and not the end of March. That way we can wear our pretty Easter dresses and sandals and not a turtle neck and snow boots. ( I live in TX, so maybe that's a slight exaggeration)

Both families are coming here for Easter, the in-laws and the out- laws!

I got these little buckets at Target and filled them with goodies for my nieces and nephews.

And each adult couple is getting a box of chocolates.

I made these little chocolate bunny tags with my silhouette machine. I wrote their names on the back of the tag. I wish I had the kind of handwriting that could go on the front...but I don't!

Can we just acknowledge the fact that I, the queen of procrastination, got these puppies done ahead of time?! I think I need a prize. Maybe I should sneak a chocolate or 2 from everyone's box!
And, on a totally unrelated note, we went to the doctor today for Katie's 9 month check up.

She loves the rip up that paper!

The poor thing has no idea that she is about to get 2 shots.

I like to keep her bow on while she's nekkid, so they know she's a girl. Otherwise it's kind of hard to tell.

She did great. She weighs 19 lbs and is 28 inches long.
Her doctor gave her strict instructions to eat the ears off her chocolate bunny first. I had no idea she could have chocolate! I am happy for her, but I am not sure I am ready to share yet!

I hope the Easter Bunny is good to both of us!

The Weekend

I hope you all had a great weekend.

I have been waiting for Katie to fit into this cute cherry sweater forever...or at least 9 months. It was a gift from Anna and I love it.

Katie had this same cherry dress when she was brand new. I had to get her a big girl one so she could wear it this summer too. I have a thing for cherries!

I still just put her in Mary Jane socks, because shoes never fit her or stay on.

I kept having to wave my hand in the air...

because she kept trying to eat my camera strap!

On Friday night my family went to the teacher banquet, because my mom is retiring this year!

My mom, dad, sister Kelly, and me.

mom and dad

And here are some of the peeps from her school.

I know she will miss them, but we will be glad to have her around more.

Saturday morning, Katie was playing in the guest room and I left to go make her a bottle. When I came back I didn't see her! Then I noticed a little hand behind the curtain!

"What are you looking at lady?"

And poor Blue has been blue since Poncho died last week. Marcus looks pretty blue here too.

This weekend we started looking for a puppy. No luck so far.

Do any of you know a cute puppy that needs a good home?
A REAL puppy, like the brand new kind.
Not one that already has bad habits!

Oh and we want a large breed dog. Marcus calls any small breed dogs, cats!
