Day 9

I started looking at some of these cute things today:

a lunch bag:

and a back pack:

these are from the land of nod

Because this little lady is going to "school" in a couple of weeks!

notice the big girl car seat!
Katie will be going one day a week to school at our church! We got her registered today! She could go 2 days a week, but her daddy is not ready for that yet.

Katie and I are rarely apart, so 5 hours with out her will seem like forever! I know she will love it though and that's the only reason I am doing it. She is very social and loves to play with other kids and adults. And I will benefit from it too, no doubt. I could maybe clean the house, go grocery shopping, do some laundry, but most likely I will waste the entire 5 hours! Discipline and structure are not my strong suit.

Do you know of any other places to find cute preschool lunch bags and back packs? It's the most important part of her education, you know?!

Tonight I went to a 31 Gifts party at Catherine's house.

She had a fabulous ice cream bar for us! She is so creative!

31 Gifts had some really cute things, but not the kind of back pack and lunch bag I was looking for.
And here is my big haul from the auction last night. We picked it up today!

I absolutely LOVE stained glass windows!
If Marcus and I ever build a house, we will have them all over the place!

The problem is that when I buy cute stuff, I just want to keep everything and not sell it!

If I get my rear in gear, this stuff will be at Golightly's soon.
Really, I need to get my rear in gear and finish my dining room first.
I seriously need an assistant.
I can kind of see how the sister wives thing might come in handy sometimes!

Do a search on Etsy! You are sure to find something there!
I wish I had that haul. I could work on some of the projects I have pinned on Pinterest!

This is my favorite place to shop for smaller children's backpacks and lunch "boxes". Some of them are vinyl so they are easily wiped off... THAT is my favorite part! :) I do own some of the fabric ones as well and I have had zero problems. They have some adorable owl ones on there right now:) THe designs change up from time to time ...

Yeah, Rick calls me "Number 1". I am the bossy Sister Wife in charge. I need a Number 2 and maybe a Number 3.

When Brynne was Katie's age, I enrolled her one day a week in MDO. I last two weeks. I called Rick after I dropped her off the second time and started crying. I said "You are going to think I am crazy, but I don't want to take her anymore!" And I didn't.

Have fun! You have lots of fun projects going on, so I am sure you will fill the time.

Oh and on backpacks, Hanna Andersson has cute stuff!

Yes I find when the kids are gone I do nothing productive. I use my time to shop at breakable places and I relax. It's nice!

As for bags, a girl can never have enough. I like to shop on Etsy and ebay for monogramed ones.

Katie's going to enjoy sonshine.

I've been looking for a stained glass window like that exactly for our family room! I would totally buy that if we lived closer! Wonderful finds :)

I just got the boys matching backpacks from my monogram lady and they are made by Oh Mint. I just posted pics on my blog. If you are interested, email me and I'll send you her photo gallery of stuff. She does lots of appliques and cute embroidery for girls!

I am sending Lauren to MDO 2 times a week starting next month (eek!) First time we've ever been away from each other and I'm like you- I know that as an only child she will benefit from the socialization, and I will benefit from some "mommy time." (which will probably include a lot of crying, followed by chocolate!) :)

As for backpacks/lunch boxes, Pottery Barn Kids is the way to go! They might be a little pricier, but I have always found their quality to be great. They even have a "preschool" size one that would be perfect for these little girls!
