A Gift For You!

First, I want to say thank you for prayers for Marcus and the other Texas firefighters! Marcus went to work Wednesday morning and is STILL not home yet! I told him I was going to issue an Amber alert soon, because I feel like he's been kidnapped! Right now he is in the Austin area, which is about 3.5 hours away. We miss him terribly. Before now, the longest we have ever been apart is for 2 days, in 12 years of marriage. So this has been difficult!

In happier news...
I got a surprise in the mail a couple of weeks ago from sisters, Colleen and Kathleen, from
Soy Country Candles!

It's a Vanilla Cinnamon candle. I LOVE it. The scent is perfect and not too overpowering.

And they sent me an extra candle to give to YOU!
The scent is Bahama Mama.

It took every ounce of discipline I have, to NOT light this candle and keep it for myself. It smells yummy!

If you want to order your own candle you will get
FREE shipping
!

Just enter this code: soy27candle24
www.soycountrycandleco.etsy.com

Here's some info about their fabulous candles:
Our candles are made from 100% soy wax made in America from soy beans. We do not currently add any dye to our candles in an effort to make them as clean burning as possible. The fragrance oils we use are 100% pure with no fillers, and our wicks are lead free.

I can't wait to share one with you! Now that it's getting a little cooler, it's the perfect time for candles!

Just leave me a comment and that will enter you to win the candle. I will announce the winner on Friday.

Your comment can be something random, or you can tell me when you are going to put your fall decor out. I usually wait until it's actually fall, but I am getting the itch! Or you can just tell me how super awesome I am, and you might just be the winner!

I would LOVE this candle. I am in Michigan and we have had 50-60 degree weather this week, I am definitely into fall now! I just went crazy at Marshalls getting Fall and Halloween stuff! If only Fall turned into Spring instead of Winter!

Hopefully Marcus gets to come home soon - I can only imagine how hard that is (for you and him!). Keeping all those involved in my prayers.
I LOVE fall decor- did you want to come decorate my house? :)

YAY!! Fall time is my favorite time of year!!!!! Praying for your husband!! So thankful for all the men and women fighting the fires here in Texas for us!!! :)

Ms. Dina, I have been thinking of you and wondering if Marcus was home. This is such a horrible time. I will continue to pray for you guys and ALL firefighters!

I'm sorry Marcus is still gone :-(
I hope they return home soon, safe and sound!!
That candle looks amazing burning!! I want one. I would love to win the other one, but do believe I'll be ordering me one like yours.
I put my fall decorations out last Thursday (Sept 1st) hoping it'd hurry fall up!! LOL And it worked, we are only in the 80's this week. Makes me so happy :-)

Maybe it will make me feel like I am in the Bahamas to just smell it. Then again, with the heat we have experienced, I'll wait until winter to light it! Prayers for Marcus!

Oh and I forgot. I will be putting my Fall decor up this week if Dave can get it for me. I live Fall decorations! I think you should go for it.

Staci said...

Well I'm always telling you how super awesome you are and that really should be rewarded.

My fall stuff is going up now. Better than last year when I put it up august 31. I couldn't stand it anymore! September 1 is the official start of fall in my house. My house just makes more sense in fall colors.

My fall decor will go up whenever I have a chance to breath (I am a first year 2nd grade teacher so I am busy). I love the smells of fall but it seems like all we have been able to smell the last day or so is the smell of smoke from all the fires around us. Prayers for Marcus' safety and for all the firefighters. I would like my candles in my house but with all the wildfires I am too nervous to light anything inside or outside.

I'm thinking about putting my fall stuff in full force in 2 weeks. I already put my flags my flags out. My other ones look pretty pitiful after the storms from the other week.

Thanks for the giveaway!

I hope your man comes home real soon!

Praying for Marcus! Would love the candle - it sounds like heaven. I put my fall (halloween/ thanksgiving) decorations out the weekend after Labor Day. Hey, that's this weekend! I go all out so I want a lot of mileage!! I also do a lot of generic 'fall' decor and then add halloween touches and after that I swap for Thanksgiving so I only do the big stuff once. Easy!

We live in South Dakota and are having low's in the 50's at night. I actually got out some of my fall stuff last weekend, just seems like fall might be in the air and raking time upon us. Cinnamon and Vanilla what a perfect combination. Extra prayers will be said for all firefighters this week, but extra little ones sent up for those fighting the fires in Texas.

Prayers for your hubby and all of the wonderful firefighters. I live about 15 miles from the Magnolia fires (Montgomery county). We are so grateful to the men and women working around the clock to battle the blazes. On a different note, LOVE soy candles and how clean they burn. Have a wonderful week!

Well first you are super awesome but you know that...what I really wanted to say before I saw you were having a giveaway. I am praying for the safety of your hubby and all of the other dedicated firemen fighting the TX fires. I do not know you but somehow I have been following you since before you had Katie. I love your style, you are funny and just a great blog to read. Blessings from NC.

From a Katie to a mother of a katie, I love your blog! :) I am a fellow "metroplexer" here in Little Elm. We saw the fire Sunday in Bastrop on our way home from Austin. Though you miss him, we are all thankful for your marcus's bravery & service! I am dying to put up my fall decor and like you, my many Christmas trees. A girl can not have too much holiday spirit, right!?! Thanks for the fun giveaway, my fingers are crossed! ;)

I'd love to win the candle, but wayyyy more impoartantly, I want to personally thank your husband for being away from you at the moment. I live in Cedar Park (north Austin) and it is insane, and downright scary, how many fires that have popped up (and are still popping up/burning) ALL over this area. Your husband is doing his selfless job and we are SO THANKFUL for him and his fellow firefighters! My brother is a firefighter in Lubbock, so of course, they ALL hold a special place in my heart! I'll pray for peace and a patient heart for you, too, b/c it is no fun having your hubby gone...esp w/a baby! I concur! Have a great evening!

I would LOVE this candle! I will put up my fall decor in about a week or two to go with a Halloween witch my MIL brought to me last week. Can't wait!! Continued prayers for Texas and the firefighters.

You are awesome and you know that because I have told you a million times! I love fall to! In October Halloween/Fall goes up and then less Halloween and more fall. It's super hard to put it up any sooner than that in the Florida heat. The Bahama Mama just might be the perfect candle for this Florida girl awaiting Fall. Just took my kids swimming over the weekend and it will be there last time until next spring! So, sad! My warmest blessing to your hubby and you!

I would love to win that candle. I love fall but want to hang on to summer just a little longer. It is very warm where I live and it just isn't cool enough for fall decorations yet. I decorate my house, inside and out for every holiday. I love your blog and enjoy your personality, decorating, and especially hearing about your darling Katie. I don't have a blog but my email is luv2read90045@yahoo.com. I will keep your husband in my prayers.

Dina!

I came across your blog about a month ago and I LOVE it! You totally inspire me to do better with my blogging!

I am getting married in October and my fiance and I purchased our first home! I am beyond excited! We are fixing it up so it will be ready for both of us to move into after the wedding! I love FALL!! (Hence the fall wedding!) So I am totally going to deck my house in fall stuff! I have never had my own home before (i've only lived at home or in apartments) so I am extra excited about this fall season because I will be able to fix up my home for me and my new husband! :-)

I am also getting the itch to put my fall decor out. But my husband has veto'd my decision since it is technically not fall yet :(

Tell Marcus thank you from me. Central TX is in big trouble right now. Peole have no idea how huge the sacrifice firefighters and their families make to protect the public. So, Dina and Katie- thanks to you two also!

We had a fire in my area on Sunday, and it was very scary to see how fast it could spread. We were just a few miles away.

Hoping for rain (and a safely lit candle!).

I love your blog! I read it often but have never posted a comment. :) Your creative, colorful, whimsy-infused decorating style is inspiring!

It feels like fall where I live in Wisconsin, so I'm getting the "itch" to decorate...but, so far, the only "fall-ish" touch would be mums on my front porch.

Sara Beth said...

I love reading your blog! I love the design of it and the sweet ideas! I used one of your ideas of hanging a wooden frame (unfinished) in my dining room and I hung a cross from it with wide ribbon and it turned out super cute! I love seeing your ideas and putting my own twists on them! I paint crosses and door hangers with initials. I bought everything to make a few fall ones (one for myself, one for a gift, and some to sell). I was not going to make them for a few weeks but with the cooler temperatures I am dying to get my flower pots (decorative only with fake flowers... I kill all flowers!) changed out to fall colors and mums and get some fall things up on the porch and around the house! I love fall! Football, pumpkins, crock pots, stews and soups, and cooler weather!!!
