Pardon The Pumpkins

Right now this buffet (or whatever it is) is not filled with pumpkins and fall decor. It is all "Christmassed" out.

BUT, I took these pics a couple of weeks ago to showcase all the painting that has gone on up in here. Then after I took the pics, I was on my death bed, and couldn't muster the energy to post them. I know, I have a tough life.

This thing was black and now it's a light gray.
The black was too dark against the chocolate walls. I wanted things brighter!

I already showed you this trunk, but I am showing it again, because it makes the list of painted things longer!

This was Marcus's grandmother's hutch. It was black too, now white.

And ignore the sand and water table that has neither sand nor water:

This house has no storage, so it's nice to have dressers, hutches, trunks and buffets to store all my crapola!

I also got a cute new light from IKEA for over my kitchen sink.

The sunlight made it hard to get a good picture. Dang sun!

I think it was only $29. I think that's a bargain.

Another new thing around here is that Katie has grown attached to her pacifier! How did that happen at 16 months old?

I hesitate to post this picture, because of the mismatched PJs, but here goes:

Anyway, the wubanub and blankie always just stayed in her crib and she would use them when she slept. A couple of weeks ago, she reached in her bed and got them out during the day. Now she asks for them every day...and I hand them over. And since I am already confessing, I am just going to go ahead and tell you that I still give her a bottle of milk before her nap and bedtime too!
I think if I had Katie at 26 instead of 36, I might have been more uptight on all the "rules" and "supposed to's", but I have learned something important in the last 10 years...it doesn't matter! The only thing that I care about is that Katie gets into Heaven and helps others get there too. She might have buck teeth in Heaven, but that's OK!

I also want to go on a tangent about that Dora scooter that she loves, but I won't. I'll just say that Dora BUGS!

I love all the white! Really brightens it up. And I totally agree about the pacifier thing. Whose business is it anyway?

Love the new look, your house must be like mine NO STORAGE! I guess you had the same guy build your house that built ours! Go figure, men know us girls need storage! Katie is sooo cute, enjoy her being a baby. My baby is 4 and was 2 1/2 before giving up the bottle! You crack me up Dina! Thank Goodness we don't watch D-D-D-Dora! We watch Sprout! Have a great week! Maybe I should post anonymous... Caroline still takes a milk bottle too. Double shush.... sometimes her big sister is found drinking the leftovers.

The new white painting looks great!

Dora won't last forever. Carsyn got over her in about 5 months. It took me less time.
I love how you are constantly changing things. I've had the same thing on my wall for 4 years.

You're too funny! I felt the same way about the paci- it's not that big of a deal. I took it away at 36 months. And for Dora, you may have a while to go... She has been a part of our lives for 3 years! :)
Love your new light and the painted furniture. You rock!

Loving the new paint job on the furniture! :) Ok, the part about the paci cracks me up. My Landry is almost 2 1/2 and still have the paci, or "neenee" as she calls it. I swore I'd take it away at 1, then at 2....ha! She may be 3 before it goes, and I could care less. I'm 35 and with two kids, I'm stressed enough without having to listen to the baby whine about her neenee. It's just easier to hand it over. ;-)

My 3rd daughter had her pacifier until she was 4! (Not trying to freak you out, just confessing too.) I would have never let my first 2 do that, infact they never even really used one, but something about being older and it being my last baby just made me relax a little. And her teeth are fine. just take her to the dentist regularly to keep ahead of any potential problems with bottles and binkies!

I burst out laughing - that post was hilarious!! Totally agree about the bottle and paci, what's the harm? Also agree about Dora - what's up with all of the dramatic pauses??

I feel your pain on the lack of storage. I'm up doing some Christmas decorating and I was just thinking how much I have stuffed into this little house.

Your pics are lovely as usual !
