My Verse and My Baby

I mentioned yesterday that I was joining the Beth Moore scripture memory verse challenge this year. 

The first verse I picked is 

2 Timothy 1:7

For God did not give us a spirit of fear or timidity, but of power, love and self-discipline.

I want a spirit of power, love and self-discipline.  And I can have it!  God gave it to me...and you too!  Now I just need to claim it!  

I often say that I don't have an ounce of discipline in me. I am also always telling people, "Words have power!"  Meaning, don't say negative things about yourself! I need to take my own advice!

And I sure don't like to have a blog post with out a picture.  So I found one that was taken exactly one year ago:

 

I kind of regret doing that, because it hurt my heart a little to see this teensy 1 1/2 year old Katie.  My 2 1/2 year old Katie is so much bigger!  You don't really notice the day to day changes, but a year sure makes a big difference! 

And I certainly don't want my daughter to have a spirit of fear or timidity, but instead a spirit of power, love and self-discipline.  

I will tell her the good news that it can be hers too!
