Smoothies and Life

I am so glad you all are excited about  the giveaway!  I wish I was a millionaire and could give everyone gifts.  If you haven't entered, go to the post below this one and leave a comment.  I will draw a winner on Thursday!

I really love how many of you have implemented Donut Friday! It's fun, isn't it?  I hope you aren't disappointed to know that the last 2 Fridays have been Fruit Smoothie Friday at our house!  We have been fighting the sniffles around here and I am trying to boost our immune systems.  That, and I am TRYING to reduce my sugar intake.  I am a sugaraholic, for reals.

For our smoothies I mix frozen fruit and fresh fruit.  There is no rhyme or reason to it, I just use what we have. I also add a handful of fresh spinach. You can't even taste it in there.  I was the kid that sat at the kitchen table for 2 hours with my shepherds pie, because there were peas and carrots in there, and I refused to eat them! I am not very good friends with vegetables. So I am dead serious when I say, you can't taste the spinach!  You also need to add some liquid.  I use apple or orange juice. The smoothies are super yummy and Katie likes them too...not as much as donuts though!

Tonight we went to the Fort Worth Stock Show with my parents!

Marcus and Katie rode the GIANT slide!

The Merry-Go-Round is more my speed! I am terrified of heights!
 Katie loved the swings!
And she liked the train the first few times around, then she started crying!
 Poor thing.
It gave my mom and I flash backs to a time when I was little.  I was on a ride and I had the most terrified look on my face.  My mom was begging the ride operator to stop it and let me off! And my dad kept insisting I was fine!  So the guy didn't stop it and thankfully I survived.

The "train conductor" guy stopped the ride early and let Katie off!  My mom happened to be standing right by him, so I think she put a bug in his ear!

The most exciting part to our evening is that I got these 4 bows for only $5 total! Katie needed navy and royal blue bows. The pink were just bonus. I thought they would be cute with pig tails.
And Marcus got us a SUPER great deal at a hotel with a water park in Tyler. 2 nights and 3 days! You have to sit through a time share presentation, but it is totally worth it! I think we will be able to resist the hard sell.  Well, Marcus will be able to.  I am a sucker!

We saw tons of adorable cows at the stock show, then we went ate hamburgers for dinner at Dutch's. Is that wrong? It didn't feel wrong!

I also need to share Katie's drawing:
 It's her daddy!
I think she did a great job!  It's her first real face that she's drawn. She got his egg head shape right! Marcus is trying to mimic the mouth here.

And I am sure that you want to know that yesterday was pajama and pizza day at school!
Katie loved wearing her PJs to school.  I wondered if most moms just let there kids stay in their PJs from the night before?  I put Katie in a new set, is that weird?  What would you have done?

While she was at school.  I worked on my space at Golightly's with Jennifer and Michelle.
Michelle was our photographer and didn't want to be pictured!  I will get her next time.

I know that none of  this is as exciting as a giveaway, but I just like to document my everyday life stuff.  Well, that bow deal was pretty exciting. You can't deny that!

The smoothies sound really good. I'm on a diet & may try making one. I figured it was time to lose the baby weight ...seeing as the baby will be 7 this month.
Also when Sydney hes jammie day st school, usually around Christmas, I always put her in a new pair. Just seems logical. Otherwise she would be wearing the same thing for pert near 24 hours. Not cool.

I always do fresh p.j.'s for school! The smoothies sure sound good to me, but I'm a sugar addict, like you, so I would sure miss doughnut Friday like Katie:) I would love to find a bow deal like that! That is usually the price for just one bow.

Love your pink blender! And love all the pics of the Stock Show. Katie did a great job drawing Marcus. And as far as the pj day, I'm lazy and would have left her in the pjs she was already wearing, BUT Sophia would insist that I change her into new ones. :)

I always put my kids in new pjs for school. You're not alone! Score on the bows, but a word of warning about the timeshare: those people are mean mean mean! We went to that same one, and they're super friendly...until you tell them no. And when they tell you it's an hour presentation, they really mean 2.5. The water park should be fun, but go in with thick skin! :)

That picture of Marcus had me dying! Katie is quite the artist. I mean, was that spot on, or what?! As far as the pj thing goes, I've always put my kids in a fresh pair. That is, until last week. My sixth grader wore the jammies he slept in to school for pajama day, and I must say, it was a refreshing change not to have to hound him to get dressed. It's the simple things, right?
