Minnie

Katie and I had to make a special trip to "The Big Mall" on Monday to get a Minnie Mouse trick or treat bag. A plastic orange pumpkin won't do!
We rode the Merry Go Round and then had to get a pretzel!
We used to be able to share a pretzel, but now Katie has a bigger appetite. And I'm preggo, so I'm not really into sharing my food right now.

Tonight our church had Trunk Or Treat.
It ended up being inside due to the rain.

Here's my Minnie:
 Minnie and Strawberry Shortcake (Charis)
And Katie's cousins stopped by for a little bit too!

The bounce houses and slide were a bit hit!

Katie said, "that was so much fun!" about 100 times on the way home!

I think tomorrow will be "so much fun" too. She has a costume parade at school. Then she gets to go to people's houses and get free candy! That's a 3 year old's dream right there.

Still Here and Still Pregnant

I am in my second trimester of pregnancy and have gotten lots of my energy back.
I still want to go to bed at 8:30, which is against my non-pregnant nature. That's why the blog has been ignored. I usually blog when Marcus and Katie are sleeping, but sometimes I beat them to the punch.

I am up now due to a late nap and some caffeine.

So, I still can't believe I'm pregnant! We had a sonogram last Monday and I told Marcus I was just as shocked to see a baby in there as I was when I saw a positive pregnancy test in August. And not to be a Debbie Downer, but after 2 miscarriages, I have just kind of been waiting for the third one. Creepy, huh?

I am usually a "half glass full" kind of a girl, but I guess I have a little PTSD when it comes to this pregnancy thing.
I just have to put my trust in God and not my past circumstances. He loves this baby more than I ever could.

And lots of times I feel like I am "fake" pregnant, but my belly says I'm "real" pregnant. It's big and it's hungry about every 2-3 hours. I have consumed an extraordinary amount of cereal.

Here's a couple of days in our life lately:
Last Friday morning Katie and I had to wake up at the crack of crack! I had to do a small physical for our insurance and it was at 8:00 am in Dallas. That's the direction everyone goes to work, so it was super trafficy and we had to leave by 7:00. Katie and I struggle to get out of the house by 9:15 for school and church. 7:00 was hard. AND, AND I had to fast...for 12 hours!
Marcus met us there, because he was just getting off work at the fire station that morning. 7:00 is practically the afternoon to him. Thankfully it was Donut Friday, so we partook after my physical and things were good again!
I had to take a nap by 10:30, for real!

That night Marcus and I went out to celebrate our anniversary.
And Katie attempted her first sleep over ever, at my sister's house.
We got a call to pick her up at about 11:00! She didn't make it very long. We were fine with it, because Marcus and I had just watched a movie where a little girl died, so we were kind of ready to get our hands on our baby.

Last Sunday I took Katie to big church with me.
(usually she is in children's church. Kids start going to the big service when they are around 6)
Marcus was at work, so it was just us girls.
She did great and "read" here Bible most of the time. And I fed her about a million pink tic tacs.

The first picture I took, I accidentally left the flash AND the sound on. So that was a little embarrassing.

Hopefully I will be better about documenting our lives. I don't want to forget stuff. And something tells me that in April, when I am 39 with a newborn, the memory might be the first thing to go. And maybe the sanity too!

I Got Married

Marcus and I met in 7th grade, but we weren't really that impressed with one another.
He was the class clown, and I was the teacher's pet.
Our whole 10th grade year, he convinced the teachers his name was Tyrone! He is even listed in our yearbook as Tyrone!
It wasn't until after college that we saw the light.
Marcus had just moved out on his own and got a job as a fireman. I thought he had gotten a little bit cute and I knew I was going to be his wife. We dated less than a year before we were engaged and then married 5 months later.
It was always fun to run into people from high school that didn't know we got married, because it shocked the pants off of them!
I have mentioned a time or two that we are total opposites, but it just works.
In the words of Jerry McGuire, he completes me.
And I know Oprah would say you don't need a man to complete you, but he just does. We fit like a puzzle.

It's been a really fun, joy filled 14 years!

Pumpkin Patch

We went to the pumpkin patch today with Courtney, Charis and Drew. It's our annual tradition!

Here is our first trip to the patch when they were babies.
Katie's in the car seat on the right and Charis and Drew are in the wagon.
My friend, Anna's boys are with us too.

And this was 2 years ago:

Baby Katie and Charis:

And the silly girls today!

This year they were old enough to try the corn maze. It was HARD! Courtney and I were just as lost as the kids!

And I got to see Janet. She's the owner of Golightlys. She and her husband also have a delicious BBQ. They have food at the pumpkin patch every year and they do catering!

Every year I have put Katie in this bin of pumpkins, but she was just too big this year!
I would have DIED if we broke the old pumpkin bin.

So last year was the last year :(
Next year we will have a new little pumpkin to stick in there!
Crazy!

The Texas State Fair

A cold front just came through this afternoon and it's glorious!
We just had tortilla soup for dinner!
Yay, Fall!

We went to the State Fair on Thursday and it was still a little bit toasty, but a fun day.
We took the train out to Dallas.

The first thing we did was get a lemon chill, or at least a fake lemon chill!
It's all I craved when I was pregnant with Katie, so it makes sense she likes them too!
Then it was ride time!
3 has been a really fun age.
Lots of things bring joy and it's fun to share the experience!

The fair is really all about the food.
We saw fried Kool-Aid, fried bacon, fried Snickers (yum!), fried Thanksgiving dinner and lots more.
Marcus started off with a corny dog.

Katie and I ate some tornado potatoes.

And Marcus might have had a funnel cake too!

Then we went to the petting zoo. They had tons of animals.
I don't know what this is, but I loved it's wig!

Katie's favorite part was this little farm. She had to do lots of work on the farm, then she earned $1 to spend in the gift shop. She bought animal crackers. I was glad she had those animal crackers on the long way home, because it kept her content.
I am thankful for a fun day with my family!
