Princess Concussion and Some Fun Too

These two girls had their first princess class yesterday!
Our rec center has lots of fun classes over the summer.
They loved it.

Sadly, Princess Charis hurt her head last night!
We got a call from Courtney that they were headed to the ER. After the injury, Charis fell asleep in her yogurt at dinner and Courtney couldn't keep her awake.
Katie and I were both worried and we had to be with them. I thought it was so cute that Charis was still in her Princess clothes too!  Thankfully she started to perk up at the hospital. She even gave me her signature smile.

(at the hospital everyone was butchering Charis's name. So I thought maybe you might be too as you're reading it. It's pronounced Care-iss. Like Paris. The H is silent. I'm sensitive to those sort of things, because people mispronounce my name all the time. In case you are too, it's Dina, Like Tina or Gina. NOT Dinah!)

They love each other.
Charis just had a mild concussion, thankfully. She's going to be ok.

Courtney and I joined our friends, because there was a girls night out in progress.
Our kids went to bed and we went out!
Jesse got to hang with the girls too!
It was nice to get out and talk with adults. I needed it!

Having 2 kids is wonderful and a blessing, and it's also kicking my butt a little!
I can't get anything done.

And when Marcus isn't home, I like to be out and about as much as possible. To me, it's easier.
So the other day I let Katie play at McD's. We didn't eat there, but a really nice man got her an ice cream! It wasn't creepy. Katie was playing with his grandsons and he bought all of them ice cream. I thought it was super sweet and it made Katie's day!

And the other day we met Charis and Drew at a trampoline place.
It's already getting steamy here, so inside activities are the best. Unless you are in the pool, which we have done too!

And this baby boy cramps our style and slows us down a little bit, but we love him!
So, I am trying to squeeze in as much fun as we can this summer and focus on the positive things. And not dwell on the fact that I am exhausted, I have a messy house most of the time, and Marcus and I never get to be by ourselves. It's just a season and it will pass quickly.
From what I've heard, this season will be greatly missed one day!

It WILL be greatly missed! I look at your sweet baby and miss being able to snuggle like that. It all goes by too quickly. I love where I am right now. It's nice to have self-cleaning children, or to be able to leave them at home and run errands, but when I see a baby, I melt. I might have something to do with my 14 year old only answering me in burps right now. I hope that doesn't scare you.

I'm so scared to add a second. I think the same thing, "it's a season, it will pass". I guess it's always better to just jump in and pray for the best. Sounds like you're doing a great job! Both kids are adorable, alive, and smiling! :-)

We'd live to get together this summer! Maybe a chick fil a play date? I know my girls are a little older than Katie but Sofia totally let's Olivia take the lead. And most of the girls we get together with are closer to Sofia's age (a sad effect of having kids later in life. All of my friends kids are graduating!) so poor Olivia gets left out a lot. We desperately need to fill some days so we don't go crazy! And I'd live to meet Jesse! You know I'll buy you a fountain coke!
